Words, symbols, and rituals play a big role in the expression of the American creed. Many people have varying views or ideas on what it means to be an American. Some can say that being an American is getting equality and equal opportunity, regardless of race or gender. But being an American can be represented in many ways. A few words that reflect the American Creed are independence, citizenship, and democracy.

A symbol that expresses the American creed is the American flag. The stripes represent the thirteen colonies and the stars represent the fifty states. Is one of the most known symbols that people picture when they think of America. It symbolizes the battles that have been fought and the independence of the country. It symbolizes what millions of its people have been fighting for.

The Bald Eagle, a very known symbol that expresses the American creed. Representing strength, courage, and freedom. The Bald Eagle is the national animal of the region. In the Nations. Another symbol is the liberty bell. It represents the American independence. Liberty Bell is a sign of democracy in America and was used in the first readings of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

One word that expresses the American creed is Liberty. In America, we have the freedom to do what we want, to be who we want to be, to wear what we want, to eat what we want, to live where we want, to have the religion that we want, and to create whatever we want.

Some rituals that express the American creed are the pledge of allegiance, the national anthem, Memorial Day, and the celebration of the 4th of July. Saying the pledge allegiance shows that Americans continue to honor and worship the flag and what the flag represents. Singing the national anthem it expresses the American Creed by putting it into a song and honoring the people who fought for freedom and not just what the flag mainly represents. The fireworks shows on the Fourth of July reflect the recognition of the people and the celebration of the “birth of the independence of America” date. Ceremonies such as Thanksgiving are held every year in the American tradition and the purpose is to give thanks and sacrifice for the blessing of the harvest and the preceding year.
